Our Story
History, community & countryside
Nestled in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan, the building itself dates back centuries, originally serving as a traditional village inn for locals, travellers and farmers passing through. Its thick stone walls and low beams still echo with stories of generations gone by – of warm fires, shared ales and a welcome that has always been at its heart.
The new chapter
In 2022 a group of local residents, united by their passion for the area and their local pub, came together to take on its future. Investing not only financially, but with their time, skills and care, they carried out a comprehensive refurbishment – thoughtfully restoring the building while breathing new life into it for the community.
Surrounded by the rolling countryside of the Vale, The Fox is perfectly placed for exploring. Step outside and you’ll find beautiful walks in every direction, from gentle village wanders to longer routes across fields, woodland and hidden valleys.
Whether you’re joining us after a walk, catching up with friends, or visiting for the first time, The Fox remains what it has always been – a place to feel welcome, relaxed and at home.
